The Sansevieria Zeylanica, or Bowstring Hemp, is an easy-to-grow, low-maintenance indoor plant with tall, green, variegated leaves. It's ideal for beginners and doubles as a natural air purifier, making it perfect for bedrooms, offices, or bathrooms. Outdoors, it thrives in USDA zones 9–11. The plant prefers bright, indirect light, well-draining soil, and infrequent watering—about once a week. It rarely blooms indoors but may flower outdoors in warmer months. Mature plants reach 2–3 feet tall. Use liquid fertilizer for growth and repot only when needed.
